Hudson River Books

Hudson River Books opened in 2015 on Warren Street, the half-mile stretch of antique shops, galleries, and restaurants that has made Hudson one of the most visited small towns in New York State. Co-owners David Chen and Rachel Morris, both former architects, designed the interior as a showcase of clean lines and natural light, with custom white oak shelving that makes the store feel more like a gallery than a traditional bookshop. The art and architecture sections are exceptional, stocked with monographs, exhibition catalogs, and design titles that appeal to the creative professionals who have flocked to the area. A minimalist cafe at the back serves specialty coffee and seasonal pastries. The store has quickly become a gathering point for the town's year-round creative community, hosting book launches, design talks, and collaborative events with Warren Street galleries.
