Lititz Bookworm

Lititz Bookworm opened in 2018 on the main street of what has been repeatedly named one of America's coolest small towns, and it fits right in. The shop occupies a building with Moravian-era bones, its low ceilings and thick walls creating an atmosphere of intimacy that larger stores cannot replicate. Owner Amy Kauffman drew on her background as a food writer to build a cookbook and food literature section that rivals stores many times its size, a natural fit for a town surrounded by some of the richest farmland in the eastern United States. The children's section is thoughtfully curated with input from local parents and teachers, and a small play area keeps little ones occupied while their adults browse. A cafe counter near the entrance serves coffee, tea, and treats from nearby bakeries, including the famous Lititz chocolate that has been made in town since the 1800s.
